Editorial policy
Clear standards for software listings and recommendations.
Commerce Stack Guide aims to help ecommerce merchants compare software with practical criteria, clear disclosures, and realistic fit guidance.
How software is evaluated
Listings and guides should consider category relevance, merchant use case, feature depth, pricing clarity, integrations, support signals, implementation effort, and operational fit.
Affiliate relationships do not decide rankings
Affiliate partnerships may support the site, but they do not determine editorial rankings, comparison outcomes, ratings, category inclusion, or recommendation language.
Evidence and claims
Pages should avoid unsupported claims. Hands-on testing, ratings, customer counts, integrations, pricing, and performance claims should only appear when there is a reliable basis for them.
Vendor submissions require review
Vendor-provided details may inform listings, but submissions are reviewed before publication and should be treated as source material, not automatic endorsements.
Genuine reviews only
Reviews should reflect real experience or relevant software evaluation context. Reviews may be moderated for spam, conflicts of interest, abusive content, unverifiable claims, or low usefulness.
Monetization must be visible
Affiliate links, sponsored placements, and paid vendor opportunities should be disclosed. Paid relationships should not be hidden inside rankings, review summaries, or comparison language.
